CMRI is established as one of the Centres is TGIRD for the Capacity building of the engineering personnel of Panchayat Raj Engineering Department (PRED).

It organizes training programmes with the financial assistance from PR Engineering Department.

It organizes networking programmes in coordination with NIRDPR.
